Travel Theme: Couples

“Don’t walk behind me, I may not lead.  Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow.  Just walk beside me and be my friend.”

Albert Camus

SKYGAZING COUPLE

SKYWATCHING COUPLE

Alisa of  Where’s My Backpack , a fun and interesting travel blog, is doing a  weekly travel theme and invites the bloggers among us to participate. This week her theme, Couples, caught my eye.  There are all kinds of couples, and many of them have found their way into my lens.  Here’s a sampling of some of my favorites.  🙂

From the Avian world:

2-HEADED COUPLE ?

2-HEADED OSTRICH COUPLE

“Birds of a feather flock together.”

Democritus

I HEART YOU

I HEART YOU – HERON COUPLE

BEAK TO BEAK - EGRET COUPLE

BEAK TO BEAK – EGRET COUPLE

And from our friends in the animal kingdom:

COUPLE IN SYNC

SYNCHRONIZED GIRAFFE COUPLE

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

Helen Keller

ELEPHANT HUG

TRUNK-TO-TRUNK, ELEPHANT COUPLE

From just around the corner….

HELPFUL SQUIRRELL MATE

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT – SQUIRREL COUPLE

“A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”

YOKO ONO
NOSE TO NOSE - HORSE COUPLE

NOSE TO NOSE – HORSE COUPLE

And last but not least, from the world of flora:

NECK AND NECK - PLANT COUPLE

NECK AND NECK – PLANT COUPLE

Somehow, no matter your species, genus or family, there is a need for connection.  Love, friendship, partnership, marriage, mating…..call it what you will, in whatever form, it’s better together.

  1. Absolutely wonderful, Tina. A great morning boost! Elephants seem to have the most understanding, compassion and love for each other.

  2. Tina,
Each of these pictures brought a smile to my face. What a wonderful collection and I especially enjoyed the quotations with each. Who knew Camus could make so much sense!!!! You are a wonderful artist.
