Weekly Photo Challenge – CURVES / Travel Theme – FLOW
“Live and let live, love and let love, flower and fade, and follow the natural curve, which flows on, pointless.”
D.H. Lawrence
My husband and I visited good friends in Asheville, NC this past weekend. Over four days we had great food (and lots of it!), chamber-of-commerce weather, terrific hiking, fun golf and wonderful company. On top of all that, we spent time enjoying their magnificent view. I thought the graceful, flowing curves of the landscape presented a perfect fit for this week’s challenges.
“A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.”
Phyllis Diller
There’s something so peaceful about a mountain vista – especially in the early morning hours. The low-lying clouds only seem to enhance the view as the sun works to clear them away. If you click on the photo below, you can see a tiny farm in the lower left side.
“My curves are not crazy.”
Henri Matisse
Here’s to peaceful mornings shared with good friends; it doesn’t get much better than that 🙂

I don’t think I would ever leave the rocking chair on the front porch with these views!
The little farmhouse tucked in corner with the Curves n Clouds pic is my fav scene. And the sun coming up –to another glorious day! Thanks for sharing the view. dsup
Their view is wonderful. I shot it at dawn every mot printing we were there. That’s really saying something for me!
Lovely!
Thanks Cindy!
There can never be too much beauty, Tina…and it radiates from these photos.

Oops, I have looked at your blog many times, I meant website. DOH!
The clouds lend such a mystical air to these images. Beautiful captures, Tina!
Thanks Tricia – the clouds seem to hang in the valleys between the peaks for quite a while each morning. Nature, as always, is beautiful!
I see you used Ms. Diller’s quote, too. I “borrowed” for a piece I did on SMILES. Great set of curvy clouds you posted. 🙂
Thanks tom! I Loved that quote-she was quite the comedienne wasn’t she? I tried to search “smiles” on your blog but no search field! U need to fix that 🙂

Kind of makes it easy to get up early with views like these waiting for you…great shots Tina
Thanks Andy! Actually, it’s NEVER easy for me to get up early LOL. But our friends’ guest room got full sun at daybreak and it was just too beautiful not to get up to shoot it.
My pleasure!

Oh, yes. I have a condo there. But my kids grew up and moved out west. I now live in northern Arizona–very wonderful. I hope to turn my condo into a vacation home. I love Virginia and the East Coast.
I didn’t know that D H Lawrence quote, it’s lovely 🙂 and those mountains are stunning, could spend hours looking at those curves 🙂
For some reason your posts haven’t been showing up in my reader, along with some other blogs I follow, so I’m glad I found these last two!

Hi Sharon – I think what you meant to say was that you loved the post LOL!

The colours are soft perfection, Tina. Beautiful! 🙂
Thanks so much Jo – even softer and prettier in person but we can only do what we can only do as they say!
