The Price of Victory: Weekly Photo Challenge
“There are victories of the soul and spirit. Sometimes, even if you lose, you win. ”
Elie Weisel
“There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people.”
Howard Zinn
Today the world suffers in communion with the citizens of Paris. In the end we can only hope Mahatma Gandhi was right: “There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it–always.”
Thank you Tina, for sharing this. That picture truly sums up what the price of ‘victory’ is.
Thank you for posting this, such a sad time…
That’s definitely a thought to cling to, Tina. Take care!
Very nice photo and post Tina, the eloquence of the words and your shot seems to underline the fact that the strength of our past is proof that good will win.
Great post…ditto. Thanks for sharing the quotes.
Considering recent events, your post is ironically appropriate to the challenge. Beautifully expressed.
Sensitive and insightful post… As always
Lovely picture and appropriate words.
Thanks for this Tina. These are difficult days with more to come no doubt. We must be strong and resilient and good will prevail…but the road ahead is long I fear.
Tina, I had similar thoughts. Thank you for this beautiful post. xx
Such an uplifting post, Tina. It is devasting to hear what happened in the world over the last day. Perplexing too, why would another person want to hate on another? In the end, love and compassion will always win.
When will we ever learn.
A very sad time indeed.
Thank you for this, Tina.

Too beautiful not to share.
This is amazingly beautiful and full of hope. Thank you Tina!
Gandhi was very wise, and his words usually stand tall over time. We all think of Paris these days.

How true. Thank your for your reminder.
Very gloomy weekend in Paris. Thanks for your post.
I would normally say if good people band together we can overcome. In the case of terrorists who are willing to blow themselves up in the process, it may take a new way of thinking about the problem. In the mean tie, I’m going to hope Mahatma Gandhi is right. 🙂
Both quotes really touch the soul at this moment of such great loss.
We have to believe this, or there is no hope.
Where is our Gandhi?
That is a powerful quote by Gandhi. Thanks, T.
Your post gives me hope!
So true, Tina. Thanks for this.
