MORNING HAS BROKEN: Weekly Photo Challenge
“Morning has broken, like the first morning”
“Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird”
“Praise for the singing, praise for the morning”
“Praise for the spinging fresh from the word.”
“Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven”
“Like the first dew fall on the first grass…..”
‘Praise with elation, praise every morning.”
“God’s recreation of the new day.”
NOTE: Although Cat Stevens made the Morning Has Broken lyrics famous in his 1971 song, the lyrics were originally written in 1931 as a Christian hymn by Eleanor Farjeon.
For this post I’ve included a number of images from previous posts as well as several that are included for the first time. With thanks to Cheri for her lovely challenge, I offer you all my best wishes for a week filled with the all that mornings have to offer.

What brilliant photographs. I’m glad I’ve found you and I’ll check in regularly to see your latest.
Thanks Maris, my pleasure!
Like you said in the last post, photographs as works of art evoke an emotional response. These images do just that. The tree shot has been a personal favourite since the first time you posted it.
This is a truly beautiful post, Tina! Love those early rays of the sun!
Many thanks twobrownfeet! >
That drowned silhouetted tree is quite something.
Thanks Steve – Sadly it’s on a very famous beach here in SC that is fast-eroding. I’d estimate it will be completely under water within a few years. It’s been a photographer’s favorite forever. I timed my visit to be there when high tide occurred at sunrise and was blessed with a glorious morning. >
What a lovely post!
A fantastic collection of super shots together with the beautiful words from “Morning has broken…..)
I’m listening to Cat Stevens song now (Ihad to 😉 )
Many thanks Turels. I’m fortunate to live in or near places that are very beautiful!
A great song ~ overshadowed by your incredible images, they match the lyrics so well. The contrast between “Praise for the Morning” and “Blackbird Has Spoken” are perfectly placed…by two favorite shots, from a sea of many.
Many thanks Randall. Praise for the Morning has been a very successful shot. It garnered a quarter-page color slot in a Charleston area magazine’s annual feature of favorite places. Looked great on print IMHO 😄😄.

I sang the song in my head all the way through reading your post and looking at the pictures. Effective !
Thanks WC, I enjoyed putting this one together.
A beautiful song, set to lovely images, Tina. Thank you.
My pleasure Cynthia. Thanks for stopping by

I like how you integrated the words of the song with very appropriate images. Not only very appropriate, but very beautiful. Nicely done, Tina
