Unlikely Moments – WPC

“The greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.

Roald Dahl

It’s been a very busy week here on our little island, so I’ve dug into the archives for a response to Michelle’s Unlikely challenge this week. Following her lead, my opening image is a favorite from our African safari several years ago. I remember wondering what the giraffe must have been thinking as he or she came upon the strange red animal in the grassy plains of Botswana 😊.

“Beauty exists, even in unlikely places.”

Richelle E. Goodrich

Even more unlikely, we came upon this little fellow during our visit to Victoria Falls.  There, the animals seemed quite comfortable with their human visitors. No doubt the restaurants and other accoutrements we travelers require provide endless entertainment for the creatures there, although this one seemed a bit unhappy he couldn’t make the human contraption do whatever it was he wanted.

Wishing you a fun weekend filled with some happy, even if unlikely, moments.

  1. That first pic is amazing – although sadly I suspect becoming less unlikely, as farmland keeps encroaching on wildlife reserves in Africa.

  2. Your photo brings a huge smile to my face this evening ~ it is like Pendleton, OR meeting the grassy plains of Botswana. Wonderful.
Busy weeks are usually good weeks, makes the weekends so much more enjoyable. Wishing you sunshine 🙂

  3. Brilliantly framed in the moment shots, Tina. That monkey does look a bit unhappy and was tied of trying to make the contraption do something 🙂 Sometimes I wonder if animals do think along the same lines as us – sometimes we figure things out, sometimes we can’t. Really like that quote by Roald Dahl. In a way it speaks of life: the good things comes in places that we never thought of. Hope things are okay and you have a good weekend and week 🙂
